Collaborative Engagement in Novel Therapeutic Research and Enterprise (Centre)
Therapeutic Approaches: Small Molecules, Biomarkers, Drug Delivery
Therapeutic Areas of Expertise: Cardiology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Neurological Disorders, Oncology, Psychiatric Disorders
Center/Program Highlights:
Drug development is collaborative by nature. Successful projects which begin in systems biology and synthetic chemistry may proceed through a plethora of biomedical disciplines before finishing their journey in clinical pharmacology, toxicology, and drug delivery. The Collaborative Engagement in Novel Therapeutic Research and Enterprise (Centre or UICentre) seeks to engage in successful drug development in a genuinely collaborative atmosphere. In the Centre, a multidisciplinary project team will incorporate toxicology, bioavailability, and targeted delivery at the earliest stage of drug discovery. Specifically, Centre activities include: high throughput screening, novel target development, hit-to-lead optimizations, POC animal studies (ADMET/efficacy), and lead-to-candidate IND enabling studies.
