Description: The animal facility has a housing capacity of around 500 rodents (rats and mice) and includes several rooms for animal maintenance and experimental procedures (surgical and others). Metabolic cages (individual cages for monitoring nutrient input and waste output) are available. The facility is also equipped for sterilization of rooms and equipment. Provides support on protocol development and licensing, refinement and advice in experimental procedures, and simple surgical techniques by certified researchers, as well as services of husbandry and routine daily care (feeding, watering, and cage changing) by qualified animal care technicians.
